The Residential Construction Framing Technician Program is designed to teach a student how to construct the frame or supporting structure of single and multi-family buildings. He/She will also be expected to know how to enclose the building, and install the windows and doors to the "lock-up" stage.
The Residential Construction Framing Technician Program can generally be completed within a 1 year time frame. Approx. 20 weeks of the program is conducted in a classroom setting. After graduation, the Residential Construction Framing Technician will be expected to be responsible for the wooden and/or steel structure from the sill plate on the foundation to the installation of the roof trusses and/or rafters.
