The Industrial Instrument Mechanics Program teaches a student how to install, repair, maintain and adjust instruments used to measure and control industrial processes such as pulp and paper manufacturing and petrochemical production.
A student can generally expect to complete the Industrial Instrument Mechanics within 5 years. After graduation, the Industrial Instrument Mechanic will be expected to be well versed in air supply systems, pressure temperature flow weight, digital electronics, chromatograph cabling, and temperature transmitters.
One in the field, the Industrial Instrument Mechanic will usually find employment within the pulp and paper industry, hydroelectric power industry, mining industry, or within the petrochemical industry.
