Situated alongside the Santa Ana River, the stunning city of Riverside is the County seat for Riverside County and is the largest city in the San Bernardino - Riverside - Ontario area of Southern California. The city is the 4th largest city inland after Fresno, Sacramento, and Bakersfield. The city currently hosts a population of about 300,430 individuals in its area of 78 square miles. Its is conveniently situated 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

The University of California, Riverside is situated in the city and is home to over forty acres of rare and unique plants. Moreover, there is an abundance of walking paths to enjoy the scenic routes through the garden.

The first Navel Orange Trees in North America has its home in Riverside. During 1873, they were introduced into the area by the first settlers from Brazil. There are now three surviving Parent Navel Orange Trees left. All oranges grown in the west coast are descended from these trees.

The economy at first consisted of mainly agriculture. Throughout the past few decades, the financial system has shifted mainly on education, government, manufacture, and retail sectors.
