Situated within the San Francisco Bay Area situated just roughly an hour from the Pacific Ocean is the gorgeous Sunnyvale city. The location of the area is scenic as it is extremely near California's well-known Redwood Forests, and Lake Tahoe within the Sierra Nevada. These two locations are ideal for winter skiing and summertime exploring. The city has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers, averaging within the high 70's, and mild wintertimes, which average in the mid 50's.

Greater Sunnyvale is a urban hive of activity. There is a huge variety of concert halls, museums, theaters, art galleries and libraries, which makes it a great fit for individuals with an artistic mind. The city boasts more than 45 regional and neighborhood centers, including the unique Murphy Ave, which offers downtown shopping and fine dining within Sunnyvale's historic business district.

Among the greatest assets of Sunnyvale is it's convenient location regarding educational institutions. Within an hours drive away are several prestigious universities, like for instance San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, University of California and Stanford University. Additionally, there are some colleges which are only minutes away from the city, such as Cogswell College, De Anza, Foothill, Mission Community Colleges, and West Valley.

The city has efficient and very high quality services. The city has combined the features and functions of the fire and police departments into one - referred to as the Public Safety Department. This concept has been revolutionary and has provided an award winning record of efficiency and safety. Sunnydale is very proud of its commitment to their citizens. The city guarantees that all public facilities, like for example its complete service library, are kept in good repair and are up to date. Sunnyvale also has 18 award winning parks which are accessible to the public.

During the month of November the year 2009, for the very first time in 30 years, some main streets downtown were opened to pedestrian and vehicle traffic as the main construction was finally completed. During December of the very same year, the city began working on the exteriors of several of the buildings on McKinley Ave and Washington Ave, as well as the two office towers on Mathilda. They also started to weatherize the partially-finished Redwood Square building.

The marketability of the project on the office tower at Washington Ave and Mathilda significantly increased when Nokia, in May 2010, signed a lease to make Sunnydale its Northern California head office. Various famous business leaders within the city are Network Appliance, Yahoo! and AMD.
