Orangeville is considered to be the cultural capital of Dufferin County. It hosts numerous annual events, comprising the popular Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival. The Orangeville Theater, located in the Town Hall, plays host to lots of entertaining contests yearly. It is well-known for the outstanding performances of its actors. Because of an investment from the Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Program, Orangeville has built a multi-use recreational facility. This multi-use community recreation complex is approximately 140,000 square-feet. There is a barrier-free access to soccer pitches, 350 parking spaces, meeting rooms, two ice pads, and indoor pools. Its goal is to help promote a healthy way of living and meet the sports/recreational needs of its people. Nature lovers can go to the Island Lake Conservation Area (formerly called Orangeville Reservoir), that protects the headwaters of the Credit River. The Conservation Area comprises walking trails, mature forest, meadows, and large lakes, while its newly-built Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail is created for nature study, bicycling, hiking, cross-country skiing and walking.
