The gorgeous city of Marysville is located in the Snohomish County, Washington. The population was roughly 60,000, according to the 2010 census. Known as "The Strawberry City" the city of Marysville got this name because of the several strawberry farms which surround the city. Through the last decade, and continuing up until now, different kinds of commercial, industrial and residential growth have transformed this city. After Everett, Marysville ranks as the second biggest city in the county.

There are a variety of several historic locations and places in the City of Marysville. Some of these include the Comeford Park, Ken Baxter Senior Center, Gehl House the Marysville Water Tower and Jennings Park. All of these are open to the public and do not require a fee to get into.

During the year 1921, the two 150,000 gallon Marysville water towers were built. Neither of these has truly held water ever since the 1970s. There were red beacons on top of the towers until the late 1940s so as to warn police whenever they were needed to respond to an emergency. These days, the only surviving tower is found within Comeford Park. The other water tower used to be situated on Second Ave. During the year 1987, it had been demolished along with many of Marysville's historical structures. This demolition was made for the Marysville Mall which was built on top of 6 square blocks that occupied most of what was originally downtown Marysville.

Comeford Park is situated within Downtown Marysville next to the Ken Baxter Senior Center. The senior center formerly served as a a city hall, a police station, a jail, a fire station and a library before becoming a senior center during 1997. This park is home to the Marysville Water Tower. There is even a big gondola in the middle of the park which was donated by Marysville's Rotary Club. As well, a children's playground is located in the park.

Found beside downtown Marysville is one more popular park called Jennings Park. The park is situated off of the historic Armar Road. This park is home to the historic Gehl House, which is a small log cabin that has been refurbished to represent what life would have been like all through the year 1884. This park even has a children's area and a huge trail that connects a different kid's area with a fishing pond.

For much of its existence, Marysville was initially known as a rural area. The industries that were prominent comprised lumber production and farming even though smaller companies helped contribute to a diverse financial system. The diversity has played a crucial role in the city's growth for many years. During times such as the Great Depression and times of economic crisis, the diversity of the financial system has been a major factor in preventing Marysville from going through the same extent like various towns in the district that had been dependent on mining and the timber trade.

There are newer shopping areas in the area like the Seattle Premium Outlets. These are found on the west side of I-5, within Tulalip. There is a different shopping center near there including a Ross and Kohl's as well as a WinCo grocery store.

Even though there are still several farms operating in that area surrounding the city, the lumber industry itself has all but disappeared and is no longer a part of the local financial system. Over the last twenty years, the community has mostly transitioned into a city with huge service-based and large retail economy. It is closely economically intertwined with its neighbors all over the Puget Sound area with big regional companies consisting of Boeing and Microsoft. Nearby in Everett there is a naval station together with its support facilities. It plays an increasing part in the local financial system.
