Collingwood is a town situated on Nottawasaga Bay at the southern point of Georgian Bay in Ontario Province, Canada. The town is part of Simcoe County.
The city is a really popular recreation area because it is located on the shores of the Georgian Bay. The area has many recreation activities provided all year round, consisting of skiing opportunities on the Niagara Escarpment. Skiing facilities are located on Blue Mountain on the Escarpment, which also has Scenic Caves to explore. Neighboring Wasaga Beach Provincial Park has been named a Biosphere Reserve.

The area of Collingwood is well suited to support industrial development with the Barrie-Collingwood Railway (BCRY). Various companies are Pilkington Glass of Canada, Goodall Rubber Company - VOAC Inc., Canada ULC and Collingwood Ethanol L.P. Collingwood Ethanol began making ethanol in the previous Nacan facility during the year 2007 to satisfy federal and provincial regulatory requirements on ethanol content in gasoline. The company expects to make fifty million litres of ethanol every year together with byproducts, like organic corn gluten fertilizer. Sadly, residential developments within the east end of the town of Collingwood have been impacted by the odour and noise caused during ethanol production.
