Cuyahoga Falls (population 49,652) is the 2nd biggest city in Summit County, Ohio, USA. The city of Cuyahoga Falls is a suburb of Akron and Cleveland, and is included in the Cleveland-Akron-Elyria Combined Statistical Area and the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cuyahoga Falls was known as a "Tree City USA" because of its extensive parklands.

The area of Cuyahoga Falls was settled during 1812 prior to the settling of Akron. The town first went by the name of Manchester. The township's original name was changed by the people of the town (at the insistence of the US Postal Service) as the state of Ohio already had some cities with that name. The city of Cuyahoga Falls is named after the series of waterfalls in the Cuyahoga River that flows along the southern portion of Cuyahoga Falls into Lake Erie. The northwest of the city is bordered by the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Towards the south, the city is bordered by the city of Akron.

Cuyahoga Falls gained prominence because of its proximity to the Cuyahoga River waterfalls, an endless source of power for manufacturing companies. The city was incorporated in the year 1836. During the 1970s, following the decline of its manufacturing base, the city of Cuyahoga Falls became a residential community and during the year 1985 merged with Northampton Town.

Out-of-town visitors and locals find a focus for their entertainment needs in Falls River Square, a famous dining and shopping spot next to the scenic riverfront boardwalk and the place of festivals like the Italian American Festival, Crooked River Blues Jazz and Arts Festival, Oktoberfest and the Irish Festival. There is also ice skating and a Sunday Evening Concert series. The Riverfront District boasts an Amphitheater and a Pavilion.

The city benefits from the opportunities afforded by the Cuyahoga Valley National Park with its rolling hills, waterfalls, ravines, winding river and abundance of wildlife. The park boasts an extensive trail system intended for hiking and biking. The main trail is called the Ohio & Erie Canal Tow-Path. Special event tours happen on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

The city of Cuyahoga Falls includes a lot of parks like the famous Mary Campbell Cave that overlooks the Cuyahoga River within Gorge Park. Mary Campbell was captured by Indians and lived temporarily within this cave. Other attractions comprise the Water Works Family Aquatic Center, the Brookledge Golf Club and the Downview Sports Center. The best way to see the falls is to take a pontoon ride on the picturesque Cuyahoga River with Fall River Tours.
