Grand Rapids is a city situated on the Grand River in the State of Michigan within the United States. It lies roughly 40 miles east of Lake Michigan. The population during 2010 was roughly 188,040 based on the census taken that very same year. The Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland combined statistical area had a population of 1,321,557 whereas that same year, the Grand Rapids metropolitan area had roughly 774,160 people.
