Tool and Die Maker

The Tool and Die Maker Program teaches students how to make, repair and test dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and special hand tools by laying out, setting-up, machining, fitting and finishing metal stock and castings..

A student can usually complete the Tool and Die Maker Program within a 5 year time period. The program consists of 20 weeks of in-class learning which will entail completing all 4 levels of the technical training component of the program.

After graduation, the Tool and Die Maker will be familiar with thread theory, abrasive machining, trade math, metallurgy, and be competent at operating a variety of N.C. Machines.
