Scotiabank Scholarship

Award Deadline: Apr 30, 2025

The Scotiabank Scholarship was established in 1998 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of CIM. Every year, a $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a candidate studying in the fields of exploration and/or geology.

The CIM Foundation (CIMF) is committed to ensuring a strong future for the mining and metallurgical industries through incentives to support and promote education. In an effort to encourage young people to pursue careers in mining and related industries, CIMF is offering the Scotiabank Scholarship.

The CIMF is offering one $2,000 award to an outstanding undergraduate student in the fields of exploration and geology in Canada. Applications must be submitted by April 15. The scholarship recipient will be announced in July and the scholarship will be awarded in September providing the candidate remains active and enrolled in their faculty's mining program.

The CIMF finances the educational initiatives of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), Canada's leading professional association for the mining, minerals and energy industries. CIM has over 14,000 national members, 10 technical societies and 35 branches across the country.
