Texas PTA offers $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Texas who will be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university or a technical institute for the summer, fall, and/or spring terms immediately following applicant’s high school graduation.
Through our scholarship program, Texas PTA works to support students who are focused on achieving career goals through postsecondary education. In evaluating each application, service and participation in school activities, community involvement and scholastic merit will be considered.
Who May Apply? Application Process
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a school in the state of Texas.
- Applicant must be enrolled in a high school with a Local PTA/PTSA that has achieved Active Status by December 1.
- Applicant must be a current member of the PTA by December 1 at their enrolled campus. Note: PTA membership is a renewable, annual membership. Current membership year begins August 1.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university or a technical institute in the summer or fall/spring semester immediately following high school graduation. Immediate family members of the Texas PTA Board of Directors or staff are not eligible to apply.
- A completed electronic application must be received by November 15.

Preparing Required Documents
Please submit documents as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf (preferred) format. The online application requires:
- A one-page resume, listing school activities, community involvement, special recognitions, and awards received in high school. Also, list any work experience.
- Copy of high school transcript (Does not need to be “Official.”)
- Three separate responses to the following questions. Each has a minimum of a 150 and maximum of a 300 word count.
- How do you envision your higher education and future career impacting your community?
- How have your personal experiences or support systems, whether family, mentors, or other sources, influenced your educational journey and decision to pursue further studies?
- How has PTA been a positive influence on your K-12 experience? Please share specifi c examples of your involvement and/or the benefits you’ve experienced.
Note: Be prepared to provide your PTA President’s name and email address as well as your Counselor’s name and email address.
