Trey Porter Law, a Texas Criminal & DWI Defense firm, is pleased to offer the Trey Porter Law Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded annually, in the amount of $1,000.00.

Mr. Porter attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He started college in the Communications Department, planning to become a newspaperman. After changing majors multiple times, he eventually settled on Political Science. After graduation, he worked in the restaurant business, sales, and as an English teacher, all before attending law school.

Understanding that plans and passions can change, this scholarship award is open to any student, in any field of study, that is currently enrolled in a college or university.

The Trey Porter Law Scholarship application window is now open. The application window closes on May 31, 2024. The scholarship committee will review all entries and announce the winner no later than July 17, 2024, on our Facebook page.

The $1,000.00 award will be paid directly to the winning recipient and can be used for expenses related to continuing education.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates must submit a 500-word essay.
  • Essay Prompt: How will you make your community a better place after graduation?
  • Proof of enrollment in a college or university (incoming freshman may submit admission acceptance).
  • Application deadline is May 31, 2024.

  • Any student enrolled in an American or Canadian University
  • All programs and fields of study are welcome
  • Any year of study
