Since 2004, INCIGHT has awarded more than 1,005 scholarships to students with disabilities pursuing higher education. These scholars are enrolled in Community College, University, Vocational School and Graduate Programs. Students who demonstrate outstanding service to their community and overcome personal obstacles are awarded scholarships from INCIGHT. These scholars spread the message of INCIGHT far and wide. After graduation and throughout their life INCIGHT scholars volunteer, support and participate in INCIGHT.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
You must be a current Washington, Oregon or California resident.
You must have a disability. This can be any type of disability as it is defined by the ADA, DSM-V, IDEA, or other governing body. This classification includes, but is not limited to:
- Autism
- Deaf-blindness
- Deafness
- Development delay
- Emotional disturbance
- Hearing impairment
- Intellectual disability
- Multiple disabilities
- Orthopedic impairment
- Other health impairment
- Specific learning disability
- Speech or language impairment
- Traumatic brain injury
- Visual impairment, including blindness
You must be attending higher education during the funding cycle following your application (2024-25 School Year.) This includes college, university, community college, or vocational school. You may be pursuing any type of degree within these institutions (Associates Degree, Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate, etc.)
You must be enrolled in your school and provide enrollment verification to INCIGHT.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- What is a documented disability?
Anything defined as a ‘disability’ according to ADA standards (please see #2 above for specific classifications). If you are eligible for social security
benefits covered by the ADA or have a disability classified by the DSM-V, it is safe to say that you are eligible our scholarship. High school students whose disability falls under the IDEA or qualifies them for an IEP or 504 plan are also eligible for INCIGHT's Scholarship Program.
2. How do I apply for the INCIGHT scholarship?
The INCIGHT scholarship application can only be found online. Press the button online to apply.
3. What is the deadline for the scholarship application?
The application deadline for the 2024 - 2025 school year is April 15, 2024. All application materials must be received by midnight on the date in order for the application to be reviewed. It is the responsibility of the applicant to confirm the completion of all fields and application submission using the online system.
4. Can I apply if I am already enrolled in higher education?
Yes! The scholarship is open to any student who will be attending higher education (university, community college, graduate programs, vocational/technical programs, etc.). This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors and adult students.
5. Is the scholarship open to students nationwide?
No. The INCIGHT Scholarship is only open to students who are residents of Oregon, Washington or California.
6. Are factors such as financial need or grades taken into consideration when evaluating scholarship applicants?
The INCIGHT scholarship is unique in that it does not consider the factor of financial need when evaluating applicants. This scholarship is intended for students with disabilities who have demonstrated outstanding community involvement and motivation to attend higher education. Grades are taken into account during the evaluation process but are not a deciding factor.

8. When will scholarship recipients be selected?
Selected applicants will be notified in June 2024.
9. If I am selected to receive the INCIGHT Scholarship, when will I receive funding?
The INCIGHT Scholarship disburses half of the amount in the Fall and the other half in the Winter. Funds are sent directly to the school, never to students.
10. Is there a community service aspect to the INCIGHT Scholarship?
Yes. INCIGHT Scholars are required to complete either 30 hours of community service or volunteer at one INCIGHT event.
