The UNCF 3M Science. Applied to Life. Scholarship Program was established to provide need-based scholarship support to underrepresented high school seniors and current first-year college students from St. Paul Public Schools, local Charter Schools serving St. Paul students, or the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District. Successful applicants must be interested in pursuing a STEM degree, or already enrolled in a STEM degree program as a full-time student at a U.S. based four-year college or university. Preference will be given to students attending HBCUs
Eligibility Requirements
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of any race or ethnicity.
- Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
- Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by your college or university.
- Be planning to enroll full-time or already enrolled at an accredited U.S. based four-year college or university as a freshman.
- Be interested in pursuing or already pursuing a STEM degree.
- Must be a high school senior or current first year college student from:
- St. Paul (MN) Public Schools
- Charter schools serving St. Paul, MN students
- North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District
Application Requirements
For consideration, applicants must submit the online application complete with the following required application materials by the application due date of May 25, 2023:
- Current academic transcript.
- One letter of recommendation, (academic).
- A one page (maximum 300-word essay) personal statement of career interest related to their field of study.
Letter of Recommendation/Reference Requirement
- One letter of recommendation is required to complete this application. The recommender must be a non-relative. The letter of recommendation must be completed through the online application system and received by the application due date of May 25, 2023.
- Emailed letters of recommendation will not be accepted.
- Applicants should give the recommender ample time to complete the letter of recommendation by entering all recommender information (name and email address) as early as possible. The recommender will be sent automated instructions at the email address provided to submit the letter of recommendation in the Application System.
- Applicants will receive an "Invite References" reminder, until a recommender is invited.
