This scholarship is designed to support students pursuing their education while encouraging personal and professional growth. At SGI, we believe by investing in students today, we are helping to build a strong and skilled workforce for the future.

Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Be a resident of Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba or Ontario.
- Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate certificate, diploma or degree program at an accredited post-secondary campus in Canada in studies relevant to SGI business, such as business, social sciences, mathematics and applied sciences, information technology or health.
- Be enrolled as a Canadian/domestic student (international students are not eligible).
Legal dependents or current employees of SGI including all full-time, part-time, co-op students/interns, contingent workers, and summer students are not eligible.
Application process
SGI will accept submissions from April 1 May 31, with applications due electronically no later than 11:59 p.m. SK time.
Applicants must:
- Provide a letter from the Registrar’s Office confirming full-time studies in the fall semester of the current academic year. If this is not available by the application deadline, you must indicate this in your application. Recipients will be required to submit this confirmation before receiving their award.
- Provide a transcript demonstrating a minimum average of 70% in the last academic year of study.
- Provide a letter of recommendation from someone who can speak to your character, leadership, achievements, and skills and abilities. Typically, acceptable recommenders include teachers, professors, academic advisors, employers, supervisors, community leaders, coaches or mentors. This does not include family members, close friends, peers, fellow students or anyone who cannot speak to your qualifications.
Tell us your story
As part of your application, you must explain why you should be awarded this scholarship through a creative submission that highlights:
- Your academic achievements
- Your personal growth
- Share a time when you faced a challenge or obstacle. How did you navigate it and what did you learn from the experience? How has it shaped who you are today?
- Your leadership, extracurricular and/or community involvement
Your future aspirations including career goals and how this scholarship will help you achieve those goals
You can choose to submit either:
- A video (no longer than 5 minutes) or
- A written submission (no longer than 500 words)

Eligibility requirements checklist
To be eligible for the SGI Corporate Scholarship, students must:
- Be a resident of Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba or Ontario.
- Not be a current employee of SGI, including contractors and contingent workers.
- Not be a child nor a legal dependant of a current SGI employee.
- Be enrolled, or will be enrolled, full-time at an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada in undergraduate studies (in either a certificate, diploma or degree program) relevant to SGI, such as business, social sciences, mathematics, applied sciences, information technology or health.
- Provide a letter from the Registrar’s Office confirming full-time studies in the fall semester of the current academic year. If this is not available by the application deadline, you must indicate this in your application. Recipients will be required to submit this confirmation before receiving their award.
- Submit a transcript demonstrating a minimum overall grade average of 70% in your most recently completed academic year (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
- Provide a current letter of recommendation from someone who can speak to your character, leadership, achievements, skills and abilities. Typically, acceptable recommenders include teachers, professors, academic advisors, employers, supervisors, community leaders, coaches or mentors. This does not include family members, close friends, peers, fellow students or anyone who cannot speak to your qualifications.
- Attach either an essay (no more than 500 words) or video (no longer than 5 minutes) that explains why you should be awarded this scholarship. Your submission should highlight your academic achievements, your personal growth (in terms of overcoming challenges or obstacles), your leadership, your involvement in extracurricular and/or community activities, your future aspirations including career goals and how this scholarship will help you achieve those goals. Please note: If your creative media file exceeds 20 MB, we recommend that you provide a link with your application (YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, etc.) or attach a compressed .zip file.
- Be enrolled as a Canadian/domestic student. International students are not eligible.
- Must not have been awarded an SGI scholarship in the past.
- Include a current resume if you are interested in possible future employment
