The Norma Brubaker Scholarship was established by the Apple Hill Grower's Association in honor of Norma Brubaker, the first Secretary of the Association. The scholarship is funded by the Apple Hill Growers, with matching funds provided by the Brubaker family.
The purpose of the scholarship is to support students who have engaged in agriculture-related activities during their high school career and/or intend to pursue a career in agriculture or related fields after high school.
Scholarship Requirements
High School Requirement:
Golden Sierra High School (7th -12th), Charter, El Dorado High School, Independence Continuation, Mountain View High, Oak Ridge High School, Ponderosa High School, Union Mine High School, Mt. Tallac High, South Tahoe High School, Transitional Learning Center, Other - Private, Pacific Crest Academy
Career/Major Requirement:
Preference will be given to students who plan to pursue a career in agriculture or related fields.
Other Requirements:
- Have good character and a strong desire to further his/her education beyond the 12th grade in a vocational training (trade school) or college program.
- Preference may be given to students who have participated in 4H, FFA, Natural Resources Programs, or similar ag-related programs in their school careers.
- Preference may be given to students who have worked at Apple Hill Ranches.
- Preference may be given to students who are family members of Apple Hill Growers Association members.
