The Scholarship Fund provides scholarships in amounts ranging from $500 to $5000 for students attending a four-year college or university and $250 to $1000 for students attending a community college or vocational school.
Completed applications with supporting documentation must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2025.

Eligibility
- Graduating high school seniors, continuing undergraduate and graduate students at an accredited college, university, community college, trade school, or religious institution.
- Applicant must be a United States Citizen and California resident.
- Applicant must have a minimum cumulative unweighted 3.0 GPA. On page 3, please submit Unweighted GPA, not Weighted.
- Demonstrate a financial need.
- Strong high school and/or community leadership record.
- If applying for the Eastern Star Training Award for Religious Training (ESTARL) scholarship, the applicant must be entering a theological college or seminary.
Award Amount: Varies. Applicants to whom scholarships will be awarded will be notified by June 15, 2025. If you do not receive a response by July 1, please contact the Scholarship Committee oescascholarship@gmail.com. Proof of payment or partial payment of tuition/fees must be submitted as well as proof of class registration for check to be mailed.
Application Procedures
- Complete the California Eastern Star Foundation Scholarship application. Make sure to complete the check-off box on top of page 2.
- Include copies of pages 1 and 2 of your most recent Federal Income Tax return, or that of your parents if they claim you as a dependent. (W-2 forms are not acceptable). Social Security numbers must be blacked out/unreadable.
- If submitting the parents Federal Tax return, the parent must sign the application giving consent to the committee to review the tax form. Lack of a parental signature on page 4 will disqualify the application. All tax forms will be shredded after review.
- GRADUATING SENIORS must submit an official high school transcript that includes the first semester of the 12th grade and must submit Teacher/Counselor Report (pages 6 and 7).
- UNDERGRADUATES/GRADUATES may submit an unofficial transcript. Do not submit Teacher/Counselor Report.
- If requested materials are not available at time of submission, please include a written explanation with your application.
- You may include letters of recommendation and resume/curriculum vitae.
- Include copy of the college acceptance letter, if available. Priorto awarding a scholarship, enrollment verification must be sent to oescascholarship@gmail.com. Checks are mailed directly to recipient.
