The Chickasaw Nation is pleased to offer Chickasaw students funding assistance for college. The following is a list of grants, programs, and scholarships that you may be considered eligible to receive. Please read the description of each and place a check in the box next to the funding source for which you wish to be considered. You are encouraged to select all areas in which you qualify. After completing this page, the attached application, and providing us with the required documentation, your application will be reviewed for consideration of funding.

 All grants, programs, and scholarships offered by the Chickasaw Nation are for Chickasaw citizens only. No student will be considered for funding who does not have a Chickasaw Nation citizenship card or Chickasaw citizenship confirmation. Applications and documentation can no longer be submitted by fax; however, you may apply online and upload your documents. All grants, programs, and scholarships applications and documentation must be delivered via postmarked U.S. mail, email, or in person to the department of education office by the end of business day on the stated deadline date: September 15th for fall semester; February 15th for spring semester; July 1st for summer semester. For quarter system students the deadline will be one month from the start date of the term. Full-time Chickasaw Nation employees will complete Form 10629E to apply for grants and programs (this excludes Chickasaw Employment Access participants).

Eligibility

Must be a Chickasaw citizen.

You Provide

  • Final high school transcript (if you are an incoming freshman)
  • Unofficial college transcript with previous semester grades and hours
  • Current class schedule showing credit hours/units enrolled

Higher Education Grant

  • Attend three credit hours or more each semester
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher

Free Assistance Grant

  • Attend three credit hours/units or more each semester
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher

General Scholarship Program

  • Attend three credit hours/units or more each semester
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Full-time Chickasaw Nation employees are ineligible

Textbook Grant - Reimbursement

  • Attend three credit hours/units or more each semester
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Part-time undergraduate, master's, or doctorate - $250 per semester
  • Full-time undergraduate, master's, or doctorate - $500 per semester
  • Receipts are due by:  Fall semester - October 15th
                                            Spring semester - March 15th
                                            Summer semester - July 1st

Textbook Grant - Gift Card

  • Attend three credit hours/units or more each semester
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Part-time undergraduate, master's, or doctorate - $250 per semester
  • Full-time undergraduate, master's, or doctorate - $500 per semester
  • Current award receipts due by next semester's deadline
  • Note: Students have six months from the load date to use all money on the pre-paid VISA gift card (see student handbook).

Chikasha Holitoplichi - Graduation Stole Program

  • Must earn an associate degree or higher at an accredited college
  • Eligibility is limited to one award per student per degree
